It does’t happen that often that we see a real piece unique de Cartier at Antiquorum and certainly not this outrageous model in platinum. The Cloche has only been part of the collection a few times and in very small limited editions. To find this piece unique at Antiquorum, that was made two years before Collection Privée, Cartier Paris was launched, is really exceptional.

Cartier Piece Unique Ref. 8872 Cloche in platinum,  Cartier, Paris, “Cloche”, No. 1/1, no. 9410976, case no A112947, Ref. 8872. Made by Cartier in 1996. Extremely fine, elegant and thin, unique, bell-shaped asymmetrical platinum wristwatch, with 18K white gold Cartier deployant clasp. Accompanied by a fitted and very unusual  Cartier box.

 Cloche de Cartier
Two-body, bell-shaped, asymmetric, polished and brushed, gold screwed bars, cabochon sapphire-set winding-crown. Flinqué, black painted Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. Two-body, bell-shaped, asymmetric, polished and brushed, gold screwed bars, cabochon sapphire-set winding-crown. Cal 9P2, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring.
The dial, case and the movement are signed. Dimensions are 25 x 33 mm while the case is 6 mm thick.
Antiquorum’s estimate is: CHF 14,000 – 18,000,  (HKD 117,000 – 150,000),  (USD 15,000 – 19,500)
